Bowen, Robin Huw
Robin Huw Bowen is the foremost player of the uniquely Welsh
triple harp, as well as a campaigner for its revival and manager of his own record company
and press. The triple harp has obscure origins, in the eighteenth century; it has three
rows of strings, the outer two in unision to each other, the middle for accidentals,
making it a fully chromatic instrument.Cusan Tan
Cusan Tan are a Welsh duo of Ann Morgan Jones on vocals and
flute, and Sue Jones Davies on harmony vocals, who have paired with various
instrumentalists on tour and on record, especially the triple-harper Robin Huw Bowen.
KilBride Brothers
The KilBride Bros are those rarest of animals - a band that
is exactly what it appears to be - three brothers playing the music they grew up with, on
the instruments that they learned as children.
Middlewich Paddies
The Middlewich Paddies started out as a six-piece band called
Kinderton Folk in 1980, in Cheshire in the the North of England. As the years
passed, so did some members of the band and the style of the band settled in the Dubliners
mould. The size and shape of the band varied a little and guest artists came and went and
in February 1990, the band recorded a selection of their best tracks at Swallow studios in
the heart of Cheshire. |
